Living, Loving, Learning & Leading
Yep, we are now in Brentwood, Essex, and Johnny has just completed 2 months as Lead Pastor at Sawyers Church. I can’t believe May is here already with (hopefully) warmer weather just around the corner.
At present we are homeless. We arrived at Cedar Lodge (the home of our kind hosts) at the end of Feb thinking we would be here a week, possibly two….. nine weeks later we haven’t moved! The first house fell through the day before completion, and we are now pursuing another property with much prayer - it would be great to have our own place by the end of May.
The kids are doing really well, although Noah prays about the new house every day, and they often talk about their stuff in storage. They miss their bikes, and Noah talks about his skateboard most days! One big answer to prayer is that they are currently attending a local pre-school. The five sessions a week give structure to each day, and help them get to know local kids.
They love Church and Sunday School, and at the place we’re staying have bonded well with P and R, although are a little too fond of the cartoons on Sky TV!
I’m getting to know folks (a little slower than J) and am hoping to start a women’s ministry in the not too distant future.I’m also enjoying getting to know the pre-school mums, and am planning to join a bookclub.
Being without a home is unsettling for all of us, but we are learning a lot, and are constantly aware of God’s daily provision and how he meets our daily needs and blesses even when circumstances are complex!
All for now. Hx
Johnny and Hannah reside in Essex with their gorgeous kids Noah and Esther. They love to connect with people and make an impact in their local community. Johnny is a church leader with a passion for communicating truth and encouraging people in life-long obedience to Jesus, whilst Hannah keeps the family together and is busy with women's ministry and writing projects. They love life, music, movies, coffee and books, preferably not all at the same time!
