Hannah and I have just returned from leading a really special Student Houseparty this weekend up in the glorious wilds of north-Wales! God was really gracious and the students from Keele were very responsive; I had great fun in grappling with the first-33-verses of Ephesians. Paul is a stunning pathologist esp. in the epic first ten verses of chapter two: Past guilt gives way to present grace with the confidence of future glory. I have grown in my confidence in the gospel even through serving in this way; we have been entrusted with such grace, mercy and goodness in Jesus!!

Richard Sibbes reckons this way in “The Power of Christ’s Resurrection”
Now heaven is begun here,
or else never begun.

Grace is therefore called heaven,
because heaven is begun here.
Glory must begin in grace.”
