Spiderman 3, is the largest-ever-movie budget allegedly, a-quarter-of-a-billion-dollars, yes, a billion, but it was an underwhelming, unethical, and not-so joyful watch today with a dear colleague and friend. Some wonderful special effects alongside some terrifying violence even for all the over-12’s in the crowd. There’s a heap of black symbiotic goo that affixes itself to Peter’s spider-suit and changes his personality. Spiderman, grapples with the venom within, but then falls foul of some very concerning hair-restyling!! and after about an hour it started to seriously drag on with the multiple villains, an over-cooked plot, relational mush (sorry Kirsten) and
not a great weave to the web!
,…though mrs D & I are just completing what most probably will be a top-five movie of the year for us in Little Miss Sunshine, as it paints the story of the most endearingly fractured family,… classically summed up by Dad Hoover shouting,
‘Everybody, try to pretend to be normal!!’
Weepingly poignant, full of unhoped-for hilarity and humanity. This was a case of less-being-a-lot-more!
Johnny and Hannah reside in Essex with their gorgeous kids Noah and Esther. They love to connect with people and make an impact in their local community. Johnny is a church leader with a passion for communicating truth and encouraging people in life-long obedience to Jesus, whilst Hannah keeps the family together and is busy with women's ministry and writing projects. They love life, music, movies, coffee and books, preferably not all at the same time!
