Most people are ‘converted to Jesus’ but not converted to the mission of Christ!!

This is my increasing conviction as we experience a challenging season in life and ministry. Without the mission of Christ shaping the priorities of all that is said and done, then we’re forever skewed in our thinking and doing. The fulfillment of gospel seems no more than Sunday-zeal and a ‘we-ll get by attitude’ prevents people experiencing the fullness that Christ has planned for them.

I’m having a really grim time these days (self-pitying over!), but knowing that God’s purposefully and subversively at work in all things, in all people and in all-ways is what sustains me. Now’s the time to be a calvinist if ever!!

* humblity is the way to exaltation
* dying to self is the route to new life
* poverty is the way to wealth
* grief is the pathway to joy
* hunger is the way to satisfaction

I continue to dig for joy in these days…
Augustine says it brillantly this way;- ‘The day lies hid, that every day we maybe on the watch. … He who loves the coming of the Lord is not he who affirms that it is far off, nor is it he who says that it is near; but rather he who, whether it be far off or near, awaits it with sincere faith, steadfast hope, and fervent love.’

yours in this faith, hope and love!
