Reading the Bible unfolds God’s truth, showing us who God is and what He has done. This truth needs to be shared with our children and modelled for them, as we seek to live in the light of the gospel. Today I’ve been challenged afresh by the responsibility I have as a believer to share my faith with the next generation, and show them day-by-day the difference He makes to my life.

Perhaps it impacts me more during half term week when the kids and I have a little more time together, but it is the reason I love Jesus today - my parents shared with me examples of God’s faithfulness, and lived out God’s truth before me.

‘…we will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done…
Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds…’ Psalm 78:4 & 7

The society we live in has largely forgotten what God has done & the generation growing up knows very little of a Creator God and His salvation plan revealed in His Word. I have a mandate to share God’s faithfulness not only with my own children but to all in my world who are growing up in a pretty godless environment.

Godly parents were my privilege - that is not the experience of many. To whom much is given, much will be expected.
