* the rain that prevents the much-needed-gardening!
* seeing that obedience to Christ is more important than my preferances.
* having more sleep than usual!
* the catch-up-fun of previously-recorded-tv such as: Earl, House and CSI.
* meditating on truths rather than getting muddled by feelings, stress, disappointments and emtotions.
* buying a 2008 diary in hope-filled anticipation!
* the challenging-and-deep joy of the fruits of the spirit.
* opting to try a new bible translation: ESV.* the richness of past heros of the faith as they challenge and resource our faithfulness: I’m a bit late getting to Calvin’s Institutes but boy are they worth it!
* couch-based t’internet sale shopping to avoid the miseries of the High Street.
* plans for our 10th wedding anniversary next week with my darling companion Hannah;- yep it’s coming to that point where it’s a struggle to remember life before! Dillema being is it to be a tin or alluminium gift?!
* the grace and unmerited favour of God to me, because of Christ.
* seeing multiple examples of Christians courageously chose to obey, grow intentionally, deepen their Godward-life, reject their sin and junk, and be responsive to God in this week in pastoral ministry.
* the children are doing scrumously!
* a confidence that Jack will return for series 7; but not quickly enough!
* eating at other peoples homes this weekend: gastronomic mysteries await!
* I am genuinely thrilled to be alive…
What thrills me is a local church full of individuals celebrating the triumph of grace, knowing what it is to be a son of God, full of the Holy Spirit, enjoying personal fellowship with God….’
