Increasingly with people who declare saving-faith in God,
the more I end up grappling with what I’ll call for now manequin-spirituality! so the gap between this and an authentic, pulsing pursuit of godliness seems so elusive!
yet here it is,…..
love and grace can co-exist,
truth and experience can mix,
fact and feeling have to come together,
the lion and the lamb can dwell together.
Jesus uncomfortably calls us to bring the sword,
rather than delude people with the falsity of peace.

I like what Augustine says….
‘If you believe what you like in the gospel,
and reject what you don’t like,
it is not the gospel you believe,
but yourself!!’

so go on,
you’re going to
live the gospel according to…. who?
