from some Christmas reading:- ‘Christ will be born in our world whether we are ready or not, deserving or not, prepared or not. The incarnation of God will defy our plans, upset the organised and come with ease and rapturous joy to undeserving sinners
and the poor in spirit.

I have been impacted afresh by the assurance that our need is for a Saviour-King this Christmas. I spoke about three ways you can prepare your heart, this morning.

BECOME A CHILD AGAIN.
Luke 18:15-17 Never lose the awe and wonder!!

REDISCOVER THE BLESSING OF GIVING. Acts 20:35

KEEP THE LIGHTS ON.
Philippians 2:14-15 Matthew 5:16
As Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium says….:
” Your life is an occasion:
Rise to it!!”

As a child almost every Christmas is the best Christmas ever. You have very few other Christmases with which to compare them. Aged 3 through to 7 it keeps getting better, but for now it’s the time of my life for an increase in the tally of tins of biscuits to soar rapidly and I’ve been working out what it means now having taken reciept of white musk body products!
So perhaps, if at first you don’t succeed, lower your standards (!!!) as I’m not the only one to believe that the gifts under the tree are getting a little thinner or more generalised!!!
Hey ho to you!

Be born in us today,
…come to us, abide with us,
our Lord Emmanuel!

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you;
I will remove from you your heart of stone
and give you a heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26

This is my prayer that over the Christmas season, that Christ will be birthed in us a bit more, for the sake of our broken and needy world and the glory of God…..
but for now my beautiful wife is patiently constructing spongebob lego with Noah whilst, Esther is engaging with her new Barbie typewriter and in the backdrop of The Polar Express engages us all….

May God warm your soul in this season.
Have a most blessed Christmas-time!
