Living, Loving, Learning & Leading
Optimism and hope are radically different attitudes.
Optimism is the expectation that things-the weather, human relationships, the economy, the political situation, and whatever-will get better. Hope is the trust that God will fulfill God’s promises to us in a way that leads us to true freedom. The optimist speaks about concrete changes in the future. The person of hope lives in the moment with the knowledge and trust that all of life is in God’s hand.
Any leader of significance in history was a person of hope.
Those stirred by a yearning in their hearts that guide them toward the future without the need to know exactly what it would look like.
Let’s live with sure and certain hope.
Lets share and show hope anyway we can.
For without hope what is left for us to know….?
“Hope is a state of mind, not of the world. Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for success, but rather an ability to work for something because it is good.”
Vaclav Havel
Hope lights a candle,
rather than cursing the darkness.
