Living, Loving, Learning & Leading
Today has contained a number of frustrations, not least of all scraping the car and bursting the rear tire. In itself no big deal, but combined with accidentally deleting some stuff I needed on my mac (arragh), dealing with uniforms covered in paint and burning the kids’ tea, I’m ready for another holiday!
Am [...]
today in a seismic almost-4-hours of toiling and tilling,…. yes thats gardening! I had some really special moments…. including the pursuit of a delightful red-breasted robin following me around, for much of the time.
doing something in the fresh air is so good at so many levels….
breaking a sweat and rolling up the sleeves is really [...]
Here’s how a conversation from last week went…
Noah:- ‘Can you be good always….?’
Esther;- ‘I’m not sure…..’

Noah;- ‘but, can she (Mum) ever be bad…?!!’
Yours grappling with the doctrine of sin and delightful children of the covenant! Agggh what a theological juggle! Roll on the promised-day of sinless-perfection…!

our dear ones,
messaging hope in our
townwide outreach a few weeks ago!
So will I run again?
Of course!
My exact time for any who are interested in these things was 1 hour 54.02 minutes! I came 159th out of 686 female runners, so perhaps I can aim to be in the top 100 next time (hmmm….!)
It was a great experience, and I have ordered some new trainers so [...]
Early morning bed-time with my family - including prepping Noah for his Friday spellings test!
Quiet time with my Saviour King,
A full-undistracted-read of the paper!
A bit of journalling!
A stimulating conversation with an academic,
A lung-busting-sing-along to an-almost-forgotten great tune on the radio,
An important chat and cry with a dear friend,
A fresh-fruit-and-veg shop,….spending too much but loving the [...]
The kids have been off this week and we have had a packed programme as ever. N,E & I spent a good chunk of the week in Manchester with grandparents so Noah and Esther had lots of fun and opportunity to exhaust their unlimited energy supplies.
There were a number of highlights which included:

As we’re updating all things pertaining to ‘Douglas’, it’s probably a good time to update you on the junior members of the household. Noah is currently sporting a shiny badge which he proudly pins to his jumper each morning, celebrating his role as ’school counsellor’. Two children from every class are elected to this position [...]
Johnny and Hannah reside in Essex with their gorgeous kids Noah and Esther. They love to connect with people and make an impact in their local community. Johnny is a church leader with a passion for communicating truth and encouraging people in life-long obedience to Jesus, whilst Hannah keeps the family together and is busy with women's ministry and writing projects. They love life, music, movies, coffee and books, preferably not all at the same time!
